Did a morning baby-free Hot Yoga class at Oxygen Yoga & Fitness for a 1 hour Freedom Flow. Pushed where I could and did stretching when needed. 🧘♀️ 🙏

Squeezed in a wall squat, in my PJs before bed because it was a crazy day! 1 min, 4 sec is my time (I lost form).
Core & Glute I made it through the warm-up then needed to look after a fussy baby. Next time hopefully I can do the workout. Did about 8 minutes. I did do a 20 min stroller walk.

I am finding my biggest challenge with this Abs challenge is the lack of sleep just tanks my energy and ability to workout when a zombie. I had my workout clothes all laid out for today, but was up 15 times in the night with baby so got only about 2-3 hours of sleep. Sigh….
My goal today was a mental one. Instead of being frustrated from being overtired and missing another workout, I instead tried patience and positive self talk - we went to the Kiwanis Waterfall park in Regina and just listened to the sound of running water, felt the grass, did some grounding. Hopefully sleep will be better tonight. 🤞

Swapped today’s workout with Mom & Baby Kettlebell Kickboxing at the KBKB studio! My abs are still sore from yesterday but gave it 110% 💪

Felt good to push myself in other muscles groups - I enjoyed the glutes and quads sections because I can push myself without fear of injury. I modified for core and was more gentle with surgery scar area.
I noticed an improvement! I can do leg lifts/hover moves now! WIN for today! 🏆

Hey! I'm Lisa. I'm in Balgonie, SK (near
Regina) and I am a new mom of a 9 month
old daughter. Before baby, I was a long
distance runner and doing yoga, kickboxing, biking and kettlebells on the side as cross-training. Running is a huge part of my identity, so when I had to have 2 abdominal surgeries related to postpartum complications, my body took a huge hit that put me in bedrest and a huge setback in my running goals.
Mentally it was challenging to accept I could barely hold myself upright after, but I have been determined to run again so I have been doing physio, online training, walk/run intervals. My furthest postpartum distance is 3 km so far, but my hope is this June Abs challenge will rebuild my core so I can run 5 km, then 10... then a full marathon again.
